DigiTrans

Objectives:
The structure of the project has been designed to create a positive impact on the target groups within the regional context of each partner (Lower Saxony – Germany, Sardinia – Italy, Patras – Greece, Brittany – France).
Hundreds of rural stakeholders are acquiring the knowledge, skills, and most importantly, the confidence, to further develop digital innovation. Thus, the desired impact of this project is to cultivate a new generation of digital pioneers across rural Europe.
In the long term, and at the EU level, we hope to achieve even more ambitious goals, visible in indicators such as an increasing number of regions involved in “smart” strategies or a growing volume of successful “smart” projects being implemented. In other words, we firmly believe that rural Europe can unite as one smart region in thought and action.

The future of rural Europe in the 21st century will be determined by its ability to engage with digital innovation. Many regional stakeholders have anticipated this and have proactively initiated “smart” strategies. However, these initiatives remain bound to a local level and therefore cannot unfold to their full potential.
This is why the project in question aims to network rural stakeholders from different European regions on a collaborative online platform to co-design, develop, and complement digital innovation within a previously developed Smart Region Framework.
