Equality Map
Objectives:
The project seeks to promote and enhance gender equality and mitigate discrimination by focusing on rural areas. We aim to raise awareness on the importance of gender equality – which is a core value of the EU- among students (13-15 years old, through the implementation of workshops in public schools.
At the same time, the design of an online platform will benefit 60 teachers of different levels, who will have access to curriculum materials and practical advice. Through participatory workshops in schools in remote areas, 560 secondary school students will be trained, gaining knowledge, skills and confidence in advocating for gender equality.
An awareness and information campaign will spread the word of the project and its results, positively impacting the beneficiaries, including men, women, children, and people with fewer opportunities, and educating the community on topics related to equality and human rights.

“Equality Μap” contributes to the need for social change, as the issue of gender equality prevails in the spotlight, especially after the #metoo movement in Greece. The lack of a targeted educational process on gender equality together with the increased incidents of feminicide and sexual abuse of children in Greece and the ranking of country, in the last place of the Gender Equality Index in the EU (EIGE, 2022), highlight the immediate need for education and awareness raising.
The project will be implemented with the participation of an interdisciplinary team from InterMediaKT and Genderhood, while the external partner Plan B (Spain) will provide expert knowledge for the exchange of good practices.
