TRUST-AI is a pioneering initiative focused on institutionalizing ethical AI within the mobility sector. We bridge the gap between high-level ethical declarations and real-world technical deployment, specifically focusing on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
TRUST-AI is supported by REINFORCING, a European initiative dedicated to embedding Open and Responsible Research and Innovation (ORRI) into the heart of digital development. Our mission aligns with the REINFORCING goal, creating a sustainable, ethical, and inclusive innovation ecosystem across Europe.
The Need
As AI enters our vehicles, we must solve critical issues of inequality in training data, algorithmic bias, and opacity in how AI makes life-saving decisions on the road.
Scope & Objectives
To build a Responsible Design Toolkit and an ORRI Strategy Framework. We aim to engage 270+ citizens to ensure AI mobility reflects human values, transparency, and accountability.
The Approach
Moving beyond "safety-only" metrics to include Explainability-by-Design, biometric data privacy, and inclusive HMI (Human-Machine Interaction) guidelines.
The Beneficiaries (The Partners)
InterMediaKT (NGO Partner)
Role: Regional Outreach & Citizen Engagement.
Impact: Leading the co-creation process in Achaia, Greece. They ensure that local SMEs and public authorities can use these tools to make AI literacy accessible to all.
AviSense.ai (SME Partner)
Role: Technical Pilot & AI Developer.
Impact: AviSense will use TRUST-AI to establish an internal ORRI Committee and adopt an Ethical Charter, embedding "ethical override triggers" into their actual ADAS software quality assurance.
